Some simple things that have made my sketching much more productive. These are really simple, but some took me a while to figrue out...
- Click and then move. There is hardly any reason to click-drag.
- For creating models where you care about dimensions, you can type
in precise lengths after drawing something. For example, make a
rectangle on the intended plane. Then type
14", 1' 6"for 14 inches by a foot and a half. This works for all sorts of things, lines, tape measure, moving things, you name it. - You can make multiple copies via the Move tool. Make the first
copy to the desired spacing and type
3xfor 3 copies. - Groups/components are your friends. They prevent other geometries from sticking to them and with components, you can make the change once and it will be refelcted in all instances.
- Learn the keyboard shortcuts. Then define some for yourself.
I've added:
- Ctrl-E - Edit/Construction Geometry/Erase All
- Ctrl-G - Edit/Group
- X - View/X-ray
